TH1RTEEN R3ASONS WHY.

In case you don't even know what the book is about: here you go.
"Clay Jensen returns home from school to find a mysterious box with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers several cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker--his classmate and crush--who committed suicide two weeks earlier. On tape, Hannah explains that there are thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life. Clay is one of them. If he listens, he'll find out how he made the list."

About a year ago, I received a picture message from a friend.
What was it of? Her face. Drenched in smeared mascara.
She had just read the book Thirteen Reasons Why.
I went to her house, and she read me a chapter of it.
I was hooked.
But - Because I'm not a huge reader, I kind of just forgot about it.
But about a month ago, I needed a book to read for an English Project.
A few friends told me their input of what I should read,
and I ended up with The Rescue by Nicholas Sparks.
Don't get me wrong, that book was absolutely wonderful. And if you haven't, you should look into it.
It's a book that teaches you so much about life.
While I was in the process of finding more books, Thirteen Reasons Why popped back into my mind.
I remembered the time when a friend sent that picture, and read me a chapter. I wanted to read it.
I went to the library in our school a day after finishing up The Rescue and they didn't have it.
DARN. But wait -
Yesterday, in school, while sitting in a back room in the library doing an assignment.
I look to my left. What do I see?
Five books stacked, the letters vertically down the spine of the book read Thirteen Reasons Why.
The hairs on the back of my neck stood up, I knew I just had to read it.
I freaked out a little and students in the room didn't understand why I was so excited over a stack of books.
I ran, no I fast walked, (you don't run in a library...) and I went to talk to our librarian, Mrs. Rabner.
I told her I had just seen the books in the back, and was wondering if there was any way I could read one.
She smiled, and told me it was my lucky day, since she only needed four books for her book club.
I checked it out, came home immediately and spent one and a half hours on my couch. I got half way through the book.
Today at school, I wanted to read more. But I couldn't bring myself to read it during school.

I came home after school at mock five speed and read for another hour and a half. DONE.
Wow, that is all I can say about this book... WOW.
Absolutely changed my perspective on life, and the way that I treat others.
I guess that's the point of it all.
No one knows for certain how much impact they have on the lives of other people.
Oftentimes, we have no clue.
Yet we push it just the same.
-Thirteen Reasons Why.

I love this book, a friend of mine showed me this book and lent it to me. Your absolutely right, it does give you a different perspective on life, makes you want to change from the person you once were. I know that getting a tape like that would crush me, knowing i was a cause for somebody's death. Taylor i love you, stay genuine and beautiful.
Love,
A Friend :)
